The Mark of Athena

The third book in the Heroes of Olympus. After one year of waiting, finally it was released. :)
I finished reading it last Wednesday, and it was probably the longest time it took me to be able to read a Percy Jackson book. I bought it on Sunday, thus proving that it took me 5 days to read it. 5 FREAKIN LONG DAYS. Ok for some, they might be thinking "I even try my best to not read more than 2 pages a day!" Well, I'm just gonna say that we are not the same. As much as I don't want to finish reading it, I also need to finish reading it cause it distracts me from my studies. Plus those cliffhangers (not just at the end of the book but also when you stop/pause to read in the middle of the story) create extra daydreaming moments--something that I really wish to avoid especially when our midterms are coming.

Anyway, so much for that. what can I say about this book? AS USUAL, IT'S AWESOME. I think it's kinda cool how Annabeth was somewhat like the focus in this book because in the other books, she was usually treated as the "sidekick"--(but not really...you do get what I mean right? it's like she's just the second main character) or just being Percy's girlfriend. But here, let's just say that it was her time to shine. :)

I am not the kind of girl who gives out spoilers. And I do not intend to give out any...but I would just like to share some of my favorite pages of the book (since i didn't get the chance to be able to note all of them).
Ok, so i took the liberty of taking pictures of parts of the book. :)

Piper and Annabeth. These two girls played quite a big role in this book. Especially Piper. Who knew that charmspeak can be that powerful? Also, it looked like she was the pretty who would usually say, "Huh? what's going on" or the usual damsel-in-distress. I liked how Rick Riordan did not make her in a typical damsel-in-distress...considering that she was a child of Aphrodite.

"No, Percy. Gods, that's so sweet" -Annabeth Chase
One more thing that I noticed in this book. Percy and Annabeth are so sweet and romantic. HAHA.

A personal favorite. I just love the humor brought by Leo, this one conversation especially.

One of my personally favorite shot that I took of the book. I dunno, it just seems so dramatic with the angle and the words

The ending. It was such a beautiful ending. No offense, but I found it really really nice...in a sense that it's a cliffhanger.

Didn't get much quotes on this book though. Since i was quite busy with studying for my quizzes while I was reading this.

Now, I'm gonna start my long wait for the House of Hades. Good thing I haven't read the Demigod Diaries yet. :)
